Cervelli was hit in the head with a pitch today, got a concussion.
Presumably it's not serious enough that he'd miss any part of the season, but it did have me wondering, who's next in line for the backup catchers job? --------------------   |

Both Cashman and Girardi suggested that Mike Rivera would be next in line after Cervelli, which doesn't sound particularly good if Cervelli needs to miss time.

I really don't think we have to worry about Fransico. Worse comes to worse if he misses time and Rivera doesn't pan out, check to see if there's a cheapo old guy looking for a team.

One of the catchers signed to a minor league deal will probably opt out if they don't make an opening day roster. Like one of the 23482394 catchers the Mets signed. Or Sal Fasano.
