Some of these are shoe-ins, some of these are questionable, some might be unlikely, but here are the possible major milestones we could witness during the 2007 season. Red means I think it will definitely happen, gray means I think its questionable/possible, blue means I think it won't happen.

Hitting

Barry Bonds: 22 HR away from passing Hank Aaron for 1st all-time

Sammy Sosa: 12 HR away from 600 career

Ken Griffey Jr.: 37 HR away from 600 career

Frank Thomas: 13 HR away from 500 career

Jim Thome: 28 HR away from 500 career

Manny Ramirez: 30 HR away from 500 career

Alex Rodriguez: 36 HR away from 500 career

Gary Sheffield: 45 HR away from 500 career

Craig Biggio: 70 hits away from 3,000 career

Barry Bonds: 159 hits away from 3,000 career

Pitching

Tom Glavine: 10 wins away from 300 career

Pedro Martinez: 2 strikeouts away from 3,000 career

Roger Clemens: 15 wins away from tieing Warren Spahn for the most career wins by a pitcher in the post-1920 live-ball era, with 363 career

Trevor Hoffman: 18 saves away from 500 career

Randy Johnson: 20 wins away from 300 career

Teams

Cincinnati Reds: 19 wins away from 10,000 in franchise history

Philadelphia Phillies: 44 losses away from 10,000 in franchise history

For the record, I predicted that A-Rod would hit 42 HR this year. But I also recognize that he hit less than 36 last year, and if things get any worse from last year, he could fall short.

Alex Rodriguez hit his 465th career home run. He's 35 away from 500.

Biggio picked up a hit today. He's 69 away from 3,000.

The Reds won and are 18 victories away from 10,000 and the Phillies lost who are now 43 losses away from 10,000. tongue.gif

The Barry Bonds watch begins tomorrow.

Hoffman, Biggio, Martinez, Glavine, Arod, and most of the rest of the hitters will reach their milestone IMO.

Man it's going to be so cool to see A-Rod hit 500 if he can do it this year.
