Well the Rox have finally learned RA's system and have run off 11 in a row. Last night they blew the doors off NO, leading by nearly 30 for much of the game.
Carl Landry has emerged as a FORCE for this team. I'm not sure if they are just on a hot run, or if they are this good. If they are this good, they are going to beat someone in the playoffs. -------------------- ![]() |

As long as TMac and Yao are healthy, they are one of the best duos in the NBA, there's no doubt about that.

Rockets do it again, take down Chicago 110-97 and run the streak to 12. Washington is on Tuesday and Memphis on Friday. Could be looking at 14 straight.
And they're STILL only 7th seed. Insane. -------------------- |

Rockets up 91-70 with 11:18 to go in the 4th. 14 in a row is within reach.
Gotta keep up the winning against shitty teams, because there's no way they get to the playoffs without Yao if they lose to bad teams. -------------------- |

48-40 Houston over Denver at the half. Mutumbo's dominating with the blocks. The finger shake will never get old.

103-89, Rockets win their 15th straight. Ties a franchise record for consecutive wins, done two other times, once during each championship season.

I love how the Rockets are adjusting to life without Yao. They're moving almost to a Suns-esque (pre-Shaq) offense and running all over the damn place. Makes sense to do that without the big guy down low. They're moving the ball around like crazy (averaging over 25 assists per game right now) and, as the announcers last night pointed out, it's rare for them to move the ball down the court and take a shot without all 5 players touching the ball at some point.
Fun ride. -------------------- |

QUOTE Yao's surgery successful, recovery time expected to be four months
HOUSTON -- Yao Ming underwent surgery to repair a stress fracture in his left foot on Monday. Houston Rockets team doctor Tom Clanton and Dr. Bill McGarvey performed the surgery on the All-Star center Monday morning. "Yao is comfortable and recovering well after surgery," Clanton said in a news release. "We will continue to monitor his recovery and begin an aggressive rehabilitation once he is physically deemed ready." Clanton has said the surgery would involve placing screws across the bone to hold it together with a recovery time of about four months. Doctors do not expect the injury to keep Yao from playing for China in the Olympics in Beijing in August. "I am very relieved that everything went well with my surgery today," Yao said in the release. "I am looking forward to getting better and starting my physical rehab as soon as the doctors say I can." The Rockets have won 15 consecutive games, including three in a row since Yao's season-ending injury. "I would like to thank everyone for their kind wishes during this time and I look forward to the day that I can rejoin my Rockets teammates on the bench," Yao said. -------------------- |

Sweet 16! 117-99 over Indiana.
Get a shot at the big D tomorrow, blessedly without Dirk. Can't say I'm disappointed at that. -------------------- |

Yeah I'm contemplating on whether to watching this one honestly. Jet and Howard are going to have to take a bulk of the scoring load tonight, and Dampiers just gotta rebound... do what he does.
We really needed Dirk because the Rockets are so friggin' hot, even without Yao. We'll see what happens, I can't tell ya that i'm too optimistic though. -------------------- ![]() |

17 in a row is pretty impressive. Maybe a little. I wasn't a believer in them at all even before Yao got hurt to be honest. I still am not a believer in their title chances, but man. 17 in a row, with many being convincing wins of 10 or more makes it hard to doubt them. -------------------- ![]() |
