To the Knicks: Tracy McGrady, Joey Dorsey, Brian Cook, 2011 First Round Pick

To the Rockets: Jordan Hill, Jared Jeffries, Al Harrington or Larry Hughes, 2010 First Round Pick, 2011 First Round Pick, 2010 Second Round pick

What in the heck are the Knicks doing? They better hope to god they get two of Wade/Bosh/LeBron/Amare/Johnson/Dirk this offseason. They're this desperate to get Jeffries off their team that they're not only willing to part with Hill.. but also two first round picks?

The Knicks are truly going all in when it comes to this offseason.

this is an isiah thomas type move..... I think the draft picks part should be taken out of the picture. Al Harrington and salary fillins are more than enough.

You have got to be kidding me. The Knicks should just go ahead and be contracted(along with the Nets) if they do this deal. Jordan Hill is going to be a great NBA player.

The deal is still close. There should be a conclusion tomorrow. The deal still stands as is.

In other Knick news, they are close to sending Nate Robinson to the Celtics: http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/basketb...osition=also%5C

The Knicks are dead serious about clearing as much cap space as possible.

Lets hope that Donnie knows what he is doing. I just hate to lose Jordan Hill but if he thinks he won't do well here then he knows more then the fans. Guess you gotta do what you gotta do to clear as much cap as possible for 2 max free agents.

Not only Jordan Hill though. The Knicks (according to reports) would also swap 2011 first round pick with the Rockets, and they'd give them their 2012 draft pick. (The Knicks don't have a draft pick in 2010.)

If they also make the deal for Nate Robinson, they'd have 4 players under contract going into the offseason. Gallinari, Chandler, and Douglas all have guaranteed deals, while Curry has a player option he's going to undoubtedly exercise.

They're essentially putting all their eggs in the FA basket if they make the T-Mac and Robinson deals. They'd have no draft picks in 2010, or 2012, and a lower draft pick in 2011 (the Rockets pick).

It's to the point that if they don't that free agent duo, then the Knicks are crippled again for years and years. They have no fall back option.

Yeah I don't want to give up draft picks either. They have a couple 2nd rounders this year but those never really work out. I am hearing some rumors about the Knicks getting the Celtics first rounder for Nate. I am just tired of trading first round picks and then finishing in the lottery and other teams drafting good players with our pick.

i don't friggin get whats his desperation, it's like we're going to win a championship if we get the free agents anyways. Why would he draft him and then deal him off so easily?

^Word. The Knicks are doing all this for nothing because nobody wants to play for those wack asses. Houston is stealing away so much from the Knicks. I dont think T-Mac will come in and give you 25 a night. He's washed up in my opinion. And Tyrus Thomas sucks.

T-Mac is washed up and always misses more than half the season, and it won't get better as he gets older. Tyrus Thomas can't make a basket unless he's within 5 feet of the rim. Horrible trade.

I never understood why Hill barely gets any burn, in those few minutes he gets to play you really see how much of an impact he can be but I guess you have to give up something worth looking at. T-Mac is washed up and trading the draft picks is really risky because as Twist said, if nothing works out this off season then we are screwed...again. I'm just hoping for at least 2 guys to come to the Knicks and I mean you guys have a point when you say whose going to sign if there's no talent, but I think they all know that the Knicks have the money to get another big FA as well and not just one.

Any combination of Lebron/Bosh, Wade/Bosh, etc, you get any two of the big names and we all know there's a lot of them, we'll be moving in the right direction.

Its not that they have money, but why would Bron or Wade or anyone wants to sign with a team whose only talent is David Lee? Seriously, my lowly Nets have way better talent than the Knicks.

To be fair, Wilson Chandler and Dino Gallinari are fine talents as well.

This still doesn't make much sense to me. Unless they have a hush hush agreement with a couple FA's this summer, the risk is EXTREMELY high. There's a really, really good shot that no free agent leaves their team. The Knicks are putting themselves in a corner. Either they nab a couple of these guys, or they are going to be bad for a while yet. With no lottery picks, nor budding young stars outside of David Lee, you'd figure they'd hold onto as much good potential youth as they can.

I can understand why the Knicks are doing this... but I truly feel they're going to be caught with their hand in the cookie jar here. The odds of signing a Wade/LeBron/Bosh duo is slim to none.

The problem is now even if they sign Bosh and either Lebron or Wade it still doesn't make them the favorites in the East.

HUGE update:

The Rockets have acquired Kevin Martin from the Kings. Could this be a three-way deal with the Knicks giving up talent to the Kings? Or are the Kings getting T-Mac?
