First I'd like to point out that this is 100% a scratch arguement and not meant to be taken totally serious, just something to ponder on.

I don't want to turn this into a Kobe vs Jordan debate but I find it interesting when you compare the supporting casts of the 72 win Bulls and the current Lakers you would figure right away that the Lakers have by far the better talent, and athletically thats true. Today's players are far more athletic than even in the 90's. But if you compare what Jordan had for teammates and their accomplishments to today's nba players its scary to think who Kobe would have as teammates.

First Scottie Pippen....Pippen was perennial 1st Team All-Defender, perennial 1st Team All-NBA, Dream Team 2 selection, perennial All-Star, NBA top 50 player, and now a Hall of Famer!!!! Now keep in mind that he was "Robin" LOL!!! This type of role player doesn't exsist in today's nba. When you factor in Pippen being one of the top defensive players in the league, his offensive game, his ability to rebound the only guy in the NBA with this type of resume is Lebron James. I understand how unfair of a comparrison this is but I think it shows how much the game has evolved. For the sake or arguement and we're saying Kobe is the best and he's the comparrison to Jordan then you figure Jordan had the best all around player/non big man in the nba as a teammate after himself and compare that to Lebron James being that guy in the league now its crazy to think just what a weapon Pippen was in those days. The biggest difference is the athletic ability.

Now let's take the best rebounder in the game since 1973 with 6 of the 8 single season highest rebounding averages since that period, an 8 time All-Defensive Player, 2 time 3rd Team All-Pro, Perennial All-Star, oh and 2 time Defensive Player of the Year! Again, this type of role player does not even come close to exsisting in today's nba. Only guy in the nba today who compares is Dwight Howard. I fully understand that Howard's atletic ability and scoring (even though they all comes on dunks) makes this an unfair comparrison but I have to use it because nobody else make sense here. Again, biggest difference being athletic ability.

Jordan also had the best European player in the league in Kukoc, today that title belongs to Dirk. Once again, athletic ability.

Again, I am in no way saying these are fair comparrisons I just think its crazy to think how much the game has evolved even from the 90's. Todays player are so much more athletic than even the guys who played in the 90's that its disgusting. Yet for some reason the game to most people seemed better back then. It shouldn't be that way.

Jordan also had the #1 3 point % shooter OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!! in Steve Kerr.

Athletically that team was nothing special outside of Jordan but if you look at the accomplishments you can argue thats one of the best supporting casts of all time. Today's Lakers have Gasol who's one of the best big men in the league but his accomplishments aren't all that special.

Once again, this post is just for fun, and not something I'm taking very seriously. I just wanted to see how it looked once I put this thought in my head into writing.
